Negotiating with confidence
Why are negotiation skills important? Negotiation is part of our everyday working life – not just formal contracts or big meetings. We negotiate when we work with customers, suppliers or colleagues, discuss targets, agree on responsibilities, or ask for better terms, such as a pay rise.
Still, negotiation can feel uncomfortable or stressful. What should you say? How much should you give away? How do you stay calm when the other side pushes back?
In this lively and interactive workshop, you will learn how to approach negotiations with more confidence, structure and control. You will leave with practical tools and techniques you can put into action straight away.
TIME AND PLACE
June 11, 14:00-17:00, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Toom-Kooli 17, Tallinn
IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR YOU?
This workshop is suitable for anyone – if you are already negotiating, it will be a good refresher of the principles; if you are new to negotiation or nervous about it, it will help you build confidence.
Key themes:
- Managing your own mindset before and during negotiation, so that you feel in control and don’t let your emotions (or the other party) control you.
- Preparation – being absolutely clear about what you want to achieve, what you can compromise on and when you may need to walk away.
- Understanding win-win negotiation – what it really means, how to avoid it becoming just a cliché and which behaviours help create better outcomes for both sides.
