CB-Food UK
CB-FOOD UK (Central Baltic Food Export Gateway to the UK) is an international cooperation program that helps small and medium-sized enterprises in the food and beverage sectors of Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, and Finland to enter the United Kingdom retail market.
Food producers in the Baltic and Nordic countries have significant export potential in the United Kingdom, as demand for high-quality, organic, specialty, and “free-from” products is growing. However, since Brexit, exporting has become more complex due to increased logistics costs, strict border requirements, and difficulties in reaching buyers and retailers. CB-FOOD UK helps overcome these obstacles by providing companies with practical support and expertise to help them expand into the UK market.
The project aims to support at least 80 small and medium-sized food companies. The participants have access to detailed market analysis, market intelligence, B2B meetings, consulting on logistics and export processes, and the opportunity to participate in trade shows, training sessions, and mentoring programs. The project helps companies establish long-term business relationships with UK buyers, retailers, and distributors and increase their export capacity.
The participating companies have the opportunity to unite under the shared “Produced in New Nordics” identity, which enables them to share expertise, market knowledge, contacts, and logistics solutions. This collaborative model helps reduce individual export costs, increase market visibility, and improve companies’ competitiveness in the UK market.
The project is most suited to small and medium-sized businesses that have:
- a high-quality and unique product;
- a desire to expand their exports to the UK market, but lack the resources to do so;
- a desire to increase the company’s visibility and gain a better understanding of the highly competitive UK market.
Participants in the project will have the opportunity to
- introduce their products to the UK market and find new partners and buyers;
- meet other food industry companies from Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Sweden;
- receive support to develop their company’s export readiness and adapt their products to the UK market;
- take part in training sessions, trade fairs, workshops and other events;
- collaborate with other companies, thereby reducing logistics and marketing costs.
