The National Defence Promotion Foundation delivered its 28th aid shipment to Ukraine, worth over a quarter of a million euros
On 4th of March, the National Defence Promotion Foundation handed over an aid shipment worth EUR 252,862.05 to its Ukrainian partners at the Polish-Ukrainian border. The largest share of the shipment consisted of medical supplies for a hospital in Kryvyi Rih, as well as 61 battery power stations and 55 electric generators delivered to help alleviate the energy crisis.
“Although the daily news cycle is currently dominated mainly by messages about the war in the Middle East, from the perspective of Estonia’s security it is of primary importance how Ukraine endures — and the support of Estonian people and companies gives Ukrainians confidence that we have not forgotten them,” said Mait Palts, Head of the National Defence Promotion Foundation, thanking all donors and cooperation partners on behalf of himself as well as the Ukrainian partners and aid recipients.
In total, on 4 March, various supplies worth EUR 252,862.05 were handed over to the regional chambers of commerce of Dnipro and Chernihiv in Ukraine. The most valuable part of the shipment consisted of equipment for a hospital in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, enabling it to carry out thoracic surgical procedures and laparoscopy. The shipment also focused on autonomous heating and electricity supply in order to ensure the availability of essential electricity and heat in hospitals and on the front line. We also supported a National Guard unit in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine in order to establish and equip mobile anti-drone units.
This was the second shipment of 2026 and the 28th shipment since the start of the full-scale war.

- 650 pressure bandages and chest seals
- 70 power banks
- 40 sleeping bags
- 50 sleeping mats
- 968 tactical meals
- 55 electric generators
- 15 Starlinks
- 3 welding machines
- equipment required for laparoscopy
- equipment required for thoracic surgery
- medical goods and equipment totalling 5 pallets
- 35 diesel air heaters
- 14 otoscopes
- 3 defibrillators
- 21 chainsaws
- 10 inverters (2500/5000 W)
- 15 tablets
- 15 laptops
All equipment delivered to Ukrainians has been purchased in Estonia in cooperation with Estonian businesses. The vans needed for the trip were provided by IV Pluss, Veho, and City Motors.
As of 2 March, EUR 6,894,300.57 has been raised in support of Ukraine. More information about the campaign can be found on the campaign website at www.riigikaitse.ee
The Income Tax Act allows donations in support of Ukraine to be made through the National Defence Promotion Foundation free of income tax and without limits until the end of 2027. This means that when making a donation to the Foundation, there is no need to take into account the thresholds that depend on profit or labour costs.
