Simpler Way of Registering Foreign Workers Who Wish to Work in Estonia for Short-Term Period
The Police and Border Guard Board have extended the possibilities of the self-service environment and employers now have a simpler option to register foreign workers who wish to work in Estonia for short-term periods.
While before, employers could submit the application for registering the short-term employment of foreigners by email/post and at the service points of the Police and Border Guard Board, it can now be done in the self-service environment of the Police and Border Guard Board. For that purpose, employer has to log in to the self-service environment and enter the necessary information regarding the employer and employee. The application can be submitted by a member of the board or a person authorised by them (the respective letter of authorisation should be attached).
To register, two things are required from the employee:
1. A digital portrait photo made of the employee (at least 1300x1600 pixels)
2. A scanned copy of the personal data page of the employee’s passport
Attached you will find more detailed instructions for using the self-service environment.
