Belarusian Diaspora Initiative (BDI): Empowering the Business Ecosystem in Exile
Belarusian entrepreneurs and accountants, who are starting or running business in Estonia are welcome to join "Training workshop: Start Smart in Estonia – Taxes, Payroll, and Annual Reports" It is a free two-part workshop designed to equip you with essential knowledge on Estonian business taxation, payroll, and company administration.

Who should attend: Beginning and active entrepreneurs and accountants seeking a practical, structured overview of Estonian taxation and company administration who have Belarus background or have relocated their business to Estonia from any other third country.
Trainer: Doris Jasko — lecturer in accounting and taxation with 25 years of experience, tax seminar author and consultant. Her teaching is grounded in practical work as a chief accountant across industry, trade, catering, transport, and in non-profits/foundations (incl. apartment associations). She has collaborated with HEAK and repeatedly lectured at the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s seminars and entrepreneurship days.
Format & Duration: 1 days × 8 academic hours. The content is organized into clear modules for step-by-step learning. The training will be followed by one-to-one consultations.
Programme
- Entrepreneurship in Estonia – brief overview: how to get started, differences between legal forms, taxes, responsibilities — 1 hour
- Official websites – how and when to use them — 1 hour
- Taxes in Estonia (using a private limited company as an example) — 1 hour
- Salary and taxes – declarations and reporting — 1 hour
- Special tax cases – declarations and reporting — 1 hour
- Value Added Tax (VAT) in Estonia – rates and VAT returns — 1 hour
- Corporate administration in a private limited company (OÜ) — 1 hour
- Annual report — 1 hour
Learning outcomes: Participants will:
- understand how to choose a suitable business form and related responsibilities;
- navigate key Estonian taxes and required declarations (incl. payroll and VAT);
- know when and how to use official web resources;
- follow the main steps of payroll taxation and reporting;
- understand company administration basics and the annual report process.
