Claude Borna
Claude Borna joined the Presidency of Benin in 2016, appointed by President Patrice Talon to define the strategy and drive the implementation of Sèmè City, a flagship project of the Government.
Sèmè City is a knowledge and innovation hub that promotes job creation through best-in-class education, scientific research, as well as the incubation of startups. Conceived as a smart and sustainable city, this initiative also provides opportunities for experimenting innovative solutions on a city-wide scale and fostering high-growth entrepreneurship in West Africa.
Claude has spent most of her career specializing in new business models and innovation. With an MBA degree from the Anderson School of UCLA (University of California in Los Angeles) and a bachelor degree from McGill University, Claude has held various roles in global leading companies such as Deloitte, Amazon and Sony Pictures, where she created the European Department of Business Planning & Innovation and was appointed Senior Vice President of Global Customer Strategy.
