Sietske de Groot

Sietske is a well-known and recognised EU Single Market expert. Before setting up her own consultancy TradePeers Ltd, she lobbied the EU on behalf of the Federation of Small Businesses. She also worked on aviation issues in Brussels, and worked in policy roles in local government in the Netherlands and the UK. Sietske has worked on the nitty-gritty of EU legislation and free trade deals throughout her career, and knows what reasonably can and cannot be expected from the negotiations, and how specific rules may change. Sietske has been closely involved with the EU-US trade agreement when negotiations took place, in particular the Small Business Chapter. TradePeers is based in the UK but has a hub in Brussels. With her experience with SMEs and commercial legislation and policies, Sietske is well placed to help business gauge the impact Brexit could have on them. Sietske holds a double Master’s degree in Political Science and French from the two universities in Amsterdam. She has lived in The Netherlands, France, Belgium and the UK, and worked with several partners in other countries, including the USA.
