Estonian entrepreneurship and professional organisations who met at the „tax law round table“ admitted that the Ministry of Finance has taken a step towards damaging Estonian business environment.
On 8 October, the winners of the competitions Entrepreneurship Award 2013 and Estonian Companies’ Competitiveness Ranking 2013 were declared at the Estonia Concert Hall. The winners of the Estonian Companies’ Competitiveness Ranking organised by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation are: among micro companies KLF-Eri OÜ, among small and medium-sized companies Wirtgen Eesti OÜ and among large companies Eesti Energia AS. Kühne+Nagel AS was declared as the main winner of the Entrepreneurship Award 2013 of Enterprise Estonia.

Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry opened the traditional business season on 31 August at the Tallinn Botanic Gardens. In his opening speech, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber, Toomas Luman called upon the politicians to start more substantial discussions ahead of the coming elections, and not to increase costs related to administration of the state. The opening of the business season of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a symbolic end to the holiday season and beginning of the new business season.
On the 13th of September University of Tartu, University of Tallinn, Tallinn Univesity of Technology and Estonian School of Diplomacy are launching a year long joint training programme TRADERUN, free of charge. Registration begins on the 15th of August.

On 20 June, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented a survey Local Municipality as Promoter of Entrepreneurship. The aim of the survey was to map the attitudes of local municipalities and their activities in supporting entrepreneurship. In total 161 municipalities answered to the questions, which is 71% of all municipalities.
The Board of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed the recent proposal to tax dividends paid by entrepreneurs with social tax. The Board of the Chamber unanimously found that such change would not consider the general structure and taxation principles of Estonian companies and decided not to support the idea.
