Publications of the Chamber of Commerce



All publications aimed at informing the members as well as those directed to foreign partners continued to be published. 22 issues of the newspaper of the Chamber of Commerce Teataja and 10 issues of Vestnik in Russian were published. The members of the Chamber received regularly our weekly e-information letter. The yearbook reflecting the activity report of the year 2007 was issued.

 

In 2008, in cooperation with Enterprise Estonia and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation the Chamber of Commerce organised business competitions: Ranking of Competitiveness of Estonian Companies 2008” and “Entrepreneurship Award 2008”. The success stories of the winners of the competitions and the general as well as area of activity rankings were compiled together in the publications “Eesti parimad ettevõtted 2008” and “Top Estonian Enterprises 2008”. In addition to that competition portal summarising the history of the competitions and information about competition www.konkurents.ee was created.

 

Already for the 12th time the Chamber of Commerce issued the practical business catalogue on Estonian exporters Estonian Export Directory 2009”. It is a tool for entrepreneurs that helps Estonian companies to bring their goods and services to foreign markets and find partners all over the world. The voluminous publication enables introducing Estonia all over the world because in addition to the catalogue of companies, it also includes general information regarding Estonian economy, statistics and useful information for those who wish to start business in Estonia. All of this information is in the book is available in English, German and French. The publication is also available on CD. The strongest side of the catalogue is its distribution channels – chambers of commerce, export-import agencies, Estonian foreign embassies, foreign representations of the EE and other relevant organisations in total in 80 countries. The print run of EED 2009 is 5000 CDs and 3000 paper catalogues. Both can be obtained from the Chamber of Commerce free of charge. The catalogue is also available in the internet www.estonianexport.ee. The cooperation partner of the Estonian Export Directory is Infoatlas AS.

 

On 20 November the Chamber of Commerce introduced the book Leading Brands of Estonia”. Leading Brands of Estonia is a book that introduces the leading brands and companies in Estonia. The brands selected for the book have been created in Estonia and are well-known in domestic as well as foreign markets. The most important point is that the company itself positions its brand as an Estonian brand and actively works at branding. The following brands participate in the book by the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce: A. Le Coq, Balbiino, Balteco, Baltika, BLRT Grupp, Delfi, Eesti Ehitus, Estravel, Kalev, Kaubamaja, Leibur, Liviko, Lotte, Olde Hansa, Olympic Casino, Orto, Rakvere Lihakombinaat, Saku, Salon+, Tallink, Tallinna Sadam, Tartu Ülikool, Tere. The book Leading Brands of Estonia is intended to promote Estonia as an innovative country with an advanced economy, as well as to advertise the brands themselves. The Chamber of Commerce believes that the book will increase popularity of those who participate in it, helps to find new cooperation partners and thereby increases Estonian export. The book will be distributed to the embassies of foreign countries and representative organisations of entrepreneurs as well as ministries. This presentable book is well-suited for giving as a gift for foreign visitors in order to introduce Estonian business. The council of the book was summoned by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and it consisted of Marek Reinaas, Urmas Oru, Erki Peegel, Inga Jagomäe and Siim Raie.
